It’s hard to believe Thanksgiving is here already! Whether it was the long, scorching summer or the fact that Thanksgiving comes a bit early this year, we can’t believe we’re well into fall and the holiday season has begun. We’ll take any chance we can to eat together with our loved ones, and Thanksgiving is a great time to reflect on all that we have and how lucky we are to have so many wonderful people in our lives.
Our kitchen has been hustling hard preparing our Turkey Dinner‘s and an array of yummy sides to fill out your Thanksgiving table this weekend. We offer a Dinner for Two that includes turkey, apple & rosemary stuffing, mixed seasonal vegetables, mashed potatoes, house made gravy & cranberry sauce ($35) as well as a full Turkey Dinner with All the Fixins (Serves 12 Generously) that includes Savoury Apple & Rosemary Stuffing, Mixed Seasonal Vegetables, Mashed Sweet & White Potatoes with Pecan Crumble, House Made Gravy & Cranberry Sauce ($275). Also available for pre-order are our Beef, & Berkshire (Pork) pie with dried Plums & Sage (Serves 6), Sweet Potato, Goat Cheese & Mushroom Lasagna (Serves 2) and Local Organic Pumpkin Pies (Serves 6-8). We won’t be taking pre-orders for any other items but rest assured, we’ve been busily stocking our fridges and freezers so we’ve got all your favourites and some tasty extras here and there.
Heading into the weekend we’re open Friday from 9am-6pm and Saturday from 9am-5pm. We will be closed Sunday and Monday with no Fresh Meal or delivery Service on Tuesday October 9th – but our store will be open and well stocked for all your Red Apron needs.
This year and as always, we are thankful for the opportunity to feed people real food, using local, seasonal and organic ingredients. Most of the dollars you spend in our store stay in our community and support not only our team of 27 and their families, but also the families of our many growers and producers. Some of the producers and growers that make up this year’s holiday meal include Saveur des Monts, Hall’s Apple Orchard, Outaouais Cranberry, Rideau Bakery, Roots & Shoots, Rideau Pines, and Bekings Eggs…to name a few.
