Whether it’s our Peach Whiskey BBQ Sauce slathered over a grilled burger, Strawberry Lavender Jam dolloped on tangy Greek yogurt or Apple Sour Cherry Jam served beside an array of local cheeses and salumi, our pickles and preserves are the little bit of sweet or sour that every dish can benefit from and ours are made with as much locally grown produce as possible.

Our kitchen team have been busy bees chopping, boiling and canning the many types of preserves we offer in-house, and today we want to break them down and offer a few ideas for using them at home… aside from licking them right from the spoon, of course.

Bread with Tomato Jam


Candy Roasted and Peach Chutney
We love this sweet and savoury chutney alongside grilled meats, soft unripened cheeses and empanadas. Try it in place of the mango chutney in this Curried Chicken and Chickpea Salad.

Apple Spiced Whiskey Jam
This warm, fragrant jam reminds us of cozy fall days. It’s incredible with grilled pork chops and on a cheeseboard. We love using it in this Brie and Preserve Grilled Cheese!

Peach Whiskey BBQ Sauce
The ultimate summer condiment! Perfectly balanced with sweet peaches, warm spices and a hit of mouth-puckering vinegar, this sauce is wonderful both on grilled meats as well as veggies (brush on corn before grilling for an incredible treat!). We love using this sauce on Baby Back Ribs.

Tomato Jam
Sweet, savoury and spiced to perfection! While we love this jam around the holidays with Tortiere and our Puff Pastry Appetizers, it’s also the perfect jam for pumping up a BLT or Grilled Cheese and makes the perfect condiment to serve with bacon and eggs. This Bacon, Arugula and Tomato Jam Sandwich is right up our alley.

Golden Beet Chutney
Made with organic golden beets and honeycrisp apples from Hall’s Apple Farm, this chutney is wonderful with grilled and roasted meats and savoury pies. Swap out for the Mango Chutney in this recipe for Chutney Dip.

Grilled Corn and Tomato Salsa
What could be a better summer condiment than our Grilled Corn and Tomato Salsa? NOTHING! It adds an effotless pop of colour and big juicy flavour to nachos, tacos, quesadillas, summer salads and grilled dishes. We love adding it to a simple Mexican Layered Dip in place of regular salsa for bigger, better flavour.

Apple Cherry Sour Jam
We love a jam that offers both sweet and sour and this jam absolutely does that. It’s wonderful dolloped over Greek yogurt with a sprinkle or granola, or smothered over slices of thick crusty toast. Try it in this Easy Jam Tart.

Fancy Cherries
Whether added to a classic old fashioned or spooned over your favourite Pascale’s Ice Cream, these succulent cherries from Warner’s Farm aren’t your run of the mill maraschinos! One of our favourite summer treats is a coke or root beer float drizzled with the juice and topped with a few cherries. Delicious!

Strawberry Lavender Jam
This jam is a dream spread over pancakes or waffles, stirred into yogurt or served alongside a simple poundcake. We love it in place of the blackberry jam in this Icebox Cake.

Raspberry Peach Jam
This jam tastes like summer in a jar! It’s wonderful in all the usual suspects; pancakes, yogurt, baked goods, etc but where it really shines is in a simple cocktail. We love to use it in this Gin & Jam cocktail.
