Are you ready to take your favourite ghouls and goblins out for trick-or-treating tomorrow night? We hope you’ll come for a visit at The Red Apron – we’ve got a few fun things in store for our spooky friends that visit the shop as well as meal ideas for the whole family!
We’ll be serving up a deliciously spooky Dinner’s In The Bag meal; Ghoul’s Night Out dinner includes BBQ Bat Wings (Ferme des Voltigeurs Chicken Wings), Worms in Green Slime (Spaghetti in Broccoli Pesto Sauce) and Spinach Salad with Red Cabbage, Black Pumpkin Seeds & Cranberries and Beet Tahini Dressing. We have a few meals left for tomorrow so give us a shout or send an email to order yours.
Before you head out into the night to galavant with friends and family, we want to make sure you and your family are filled up with a nourishing meal to give your little ones the energy and stamina they need to get the most candy on the block (very important!). One of our favourite meal ideas for rushed evenings is a soup bar; grab one (or a few!) of our delicious soups from the freezer or fresh fridge, warm it through on the stove and put out a platter of various toppings like crispy bacon bits, shredded cheese, crunchy croutons, diced avocado, tortilla chips, toasted seeds or nuts, roasted veggies, salsa or sour cream. Feeding kids a buffet-style dinner means they get ownership over what they want to eat, and in our experience it makes for a much happier dinner table for everyone, and fuller bellies for the kids.
We wanted to offer a little weeknight inspiration so here are some of our favourite 30 minute meals to consider for your Halloween pre-game.

1. Smothered Chicken
2. Maple Mustard Pork Tenderloin
3. Smoky Squash Chili with Quinoa, Pinto and Black Beans

Be safe out there and Happy Halloween, everyone!
